An Oak Frame Barn Conversion – by Roderick James

bc7

Now anyone that has spoken to me knows about my obsessive compuslvie fascination with barns. I have this great desire to design, renovate and live in a Barn conversion so I’m afraid you’ll all have to get used to me posting many of my whims. This Barn conversion with contempory walkway and living area opening onto timber decking over purpose built lake, which I think is the winning feature of this particular design.

bc2The extensive use of glass throughout this project also adds to the properties style and contemporary feel. Allowing what’s old in the building and what’s new to be clearly defined. The use of oak and glass is also a reason why this building is a favourite of mine.
